During Tareet's teen years in Marseille, "Asics" was the brand that every teen and young adult dreamed of having, at the feet of every Marseillais.

Babouches “slippers” are the archetypal shoe worn with a djellaba or a Qamis, primarily as part of a religious/traditional outfit. Marseille's strong colonial past brought a huge influx of African immigrants, so the two archetypes of "Asics" sneaker shoes and babouches come together. Asics are often worn with djellaba and babouches with more streetwear outfits.
