Conceptual glass and steel candle ring. The candle the ring comes with is beeswax - no recommended for senstive skin. The piece is versatile and is also made for picking flowers. It is an extension of my ongoing exploration of porosity as both a gesture and methodology. A permeable threshold that balances permanence and decay. Originating from the idea of composting my artistic practice; allowing it to continually decompose and re-form into new configurations of intimacy. This piece merges the essence of the various elements of my installation "a practice of porosity" into an ephemeral wearable. In a time where trends are rapidly evolving, i was drawn to the idea of integrating the users identity into the piece and allowing them to continually reinvent themselves. Work technical description through lampworking, solid borosilicate glass was shaped and textured creating the initial ring foundation. The piece was then welderd to an encapulated stainless steel nail, which was then cut and filed down. Taking a walk and exploring visually your local ecosystem, so as to see what organic matter to connect is the final step of the process.

Borosilicate glass, forged with steel and bees wax.
